Fraternal Greetings Brothers,
I would like to start the newsletter off by saying what a great meal prepared by our Junior Warden and his crew. There is no better place to eat on a Thursday night than Boyleston Lodge. You will not get the quality of food for five dollars anywhere in this state. If you haven’t came to eat, you are missing out.
On September 5, 2024, our stated business meeting was held. Sixty-eight brothers were in attendance. We immediately went into voting after opening the lodge. All voting was done in accordance to the by-laws. The Past Masters as well as the current and past Grand Lodge officers were introduced. The Grand Master then entered for his official visit. Private honors were given as well as introductions of his official party. Most Worshipful then gave his thoughts on matters coming to vote at the next Grand Lodge communication. Awards were then handed out by the Grand Master for 50 years and 60 years. A raffle for a Grand Master coin as well as pins from the Grand Master pin and Deputy Grand Master pins.
Correspondence was then discussed. The lodge was requested for use on October 13, 2024. Voting was favorable. There will be a Memorial Service for Phillip Steele will be held at 10 a.m. on September 21, 2024. There will be light refreshments at the lodge. Please come and support our departed brother’s family. A investigating committee was appointed for a petition for reinstatement. Minutes from the previous month were dispensed. Junior Warden presented the lodge with a check for $5,200 from the bbq. Thank you to all brothers, friends, and family that help with preparation, cooking, and serving. Russ Taylor then addressed the upcoming Clay Busters Tournament on Marh 22. This is a new unit at the Jamil Shrine. More information can be obtained at jamilclaybusters.com.
The work this month was then set. We will have an Entered Apprentice degree provided the candidate’s work does not interfere. He is a traveling lineman and mother nature determines his work schedule. There will be a Fellow Craft degree with one candidate.
Brothers, I am honored to know each and everyone of you. Why we do not see eye to eye on every matter in the world, it is still good to come together in fellowship. I know of no other place in the world where men of different backgrounds, religious beliefs, political beliefs, opinions, and professions, can come together in amity. So mote it be.
Respectfully,
Steven Lourigan Senior Warden
