JANUARY 2024 TRESTLEBOARD

Greetings Brothers,

On February 1, 2024, our stated business meeting was held. The Tiler’s log verified twenty-eight brothers in attendance, although I counted 29 in the lodge room. Brothers please ensure that you sign the Tiler’s log for accuracy.

As we normally do we introduced the Past Masters and the current and past Grand Lodge officers. The secretary and treasurer gave their monthly reports and all was satisfactory. WB George Brown gave the report from the audit committee. All was as it should be. We then set the work for the month. We will not be having a degree this month as the FC candidate is not ready. We do have a couple things happening on February 10. 2024. We have our quarterly Adopt-a-Highway as well as wood cutting and loading the pits. Please if you can help with one or both or these it would be greatly appreciated. Lamar Advertising wants to enter into a new contract for the sign on the lodge’s property. There was some conflicting language as well as time frame discussions that were raised. WB Jim Weih was voted by the lodge to handle the negotiations for the contract to ensure the protection of the lodge.  RW Ron Lockaby and WB Jud Close have tickets for a gun raffle to be drawn at Grand Lodge in April. Contact him if interested in tickets.

I leave the craft with this: Boylston lodge is more than just a building. It is a living breathing organization made up of brothers from various backgrounds, experiences, generations, as well as ideas. We all knelt before our sacred altar and took the same oath. An oath that was not only to our fraternal organization, but to each and every brother. Brotherly love, morality, and friendship should be extended to every member of our lodge as well as our organization. Do not let disagreements and squabbles interfere with those valued tenets that you promised.

Next month our Regularly Stated Meeting will be on March 7, 2024. We will eat at 6:30pm and the gavel will drop at 7:30pm. The meals are quickly becoming a tradition and known for being very good and filling. Even if it is just to enjoy a good meal, join us. We miss you.

Respectfully,

Steven Lourigan                                                                                                                                       Senior Warden
