Fraternal Greetings Brothers,
I hope you have been staying cool in the heat of this summer. On August 1, 2024, our stated business meeting was held. Thirty-two brothers were in attendance. The Past Masters as well as the current and past Grand Lodge officers were introduced. Health and happiness were discussed with prayers for those mentioned and not mentioned. Worshipful Brother Gene Swygert gave Masonic education on the symbolism of the beehive. Worshipful Brother Nick White read a statement to the lodge. Minutes from the previous month were read and approved. One new candidate was voted on to take the Entered Apprentice degree. This brother is in an unusual situation as he is a traveling lineman, so patience for his degree work will be needed. He can be called out of town to work at any moment. Two candidates were voted on to take the Fellow Craft degree, and one candidate to take the Master Mason degree. All voting was commenced in accordance with the by-laws.
We then moved onto old business. WB Jud Close was in contact with the company replacing the star and stated the tile was waiting to come in. The black tile was not delivered yet. The 2nd BBQ will be this month. All hands will be needed to make this a success as in the past. Please come and help out our Junior Warden with the many tasks needing to be accomplished.
New business was then opened to the craft. A motion was passed to buy 3 identical chairs for the Secretary, Treasurer, and Chaplain spots in the lodge. If any of you brothers have sat in these chairs, you know that it was needed. A monetary value was set forth and hope to have them soon. Our Junior Deacon made a motion and set into motion updating our slide deck for lectures into modern times. Some of the other lecturers in the craft will be asked upon to assist in this.
Our District Inspirational was held during the month of July and was a good times with a delicious meal. Our very own Worshipful Brother Jud Close was awarded the 10th District Mason of the Year Award. A very deserving brother. Congratulations to WB Jud “the Stud” Close.
Secretary read the NPD list in lodge. Thirty-five brothers’ names were called. Please reach out if you know them and encourage them to settle their dues.
Brothers it is hot. And the heat can affect many of us. Please check on your loved ones, your brothers, your neighbor, and your friends to ensure they are ok. If you haven’t seen them in a while, check on them. May Heaven’s blessings rest upon you.
Respectfully,
Steven Lourigan Senior Warden
